Hi, I’m Alon, and I work with Neuromorphic Nanowire Networks

The term neuromorphic (neuro from neuron and morphic meaning mimicking or copying) is used to describe systems that copy, or intend to copy the behaviour of the human brain.

In my PhD at The University of Sydney, I work with neuromorphic nanowires made out of silver, that mimic neural networks in the brain.

My work involves characterisation of nanowire networks, to understand their structure and how that might affect their functionality.

I also write algorithms to train these networks to learn memory tasks inspired by neuroscience, using gradient descent and backpropagation.
